SWK 614 Program Evaluation and Data Analysis
(3-0-3) This course provides an in-depth examination of program evaluation and social science data analysis strategies. Program evaluation topics will include but not be limited to: needs assessment, process evaluation, outcome evaluation, and cost-benefit analysis. Course discussion will focus on ways to incorporate various types of data collection (qualitative and quantitative) as well as various evaluation designs in terms of strengths/limitations into an agency setting. Additionally, this course provides an in-depth discussion of descriptive and inferential data analysis and computer assisted data analysis. Appropriate methods of using and applying common social science data analysis techniques will be discussed. The course will be structured to allow the students to apply these program evaluation and data analysis strategies in an agency setting. Admission to the MSW Program is required.
