Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship Certificate
Program Competencies
Students completing the Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship Certificate will be able to:
- Develop skills associated with entrepreneurial and innovative thinking
- List the essential requirements for the successful planning of a new venture and be aware of the issues involved in initiating a new venture.
- Explain the major components of full-cycle development of an idea into a successful enterprise.
- Detail the components and processes involved in developing a business plan (including marketing and financial plans).
- Prepare a projected profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement for a small or new business.
- From a legal perspective, list the specific legal activities that must be done to start a business.
- Describe the importance of marketing to a new business and/or to a existing business.
