PHIL 357 Philosophy of Law

(3-0-3) This course is an introduction to the Philosophy of Law. The Philosophy of Law, often referred to as Jurisprudence, is the field of study that concerns itself with the fundamental nature of law and justice. It seeks to understand the purpose of the law and the normative ways it functions. Practically speaking, we see this most often played out in our legal system in the various ways the judiciary decides legal issues. Equated with LGS 375 Philosophy of Law.
