ART 309 Digital Art

(2-2-3) Digital Art builds on foundational digital media skills to explore advanced techniques in visual communication and time-based design. Through lectures, demonstrations, and studio projects, students integrate concept development with technical proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro. The course introduces multiple modes of digital image-making - photo manipulation, digital collage, color correction, compositing, and atmospheric grading - followed by an introduction to animation principles, motion graphics, and video editing. Emphasis is placed on developing a critical and experimental design approach that connects digital processes to expressive, conceptual outcomes in contemporary art and graphic design practice.
