Camden-Carroll Library

Camden-Carroll Library serves as the information hub of Morehead State University, supporting the university’s curriculum and student needs with a wide range of resources. Its collections include books, journals, newspapers, and government documents in both print and digital formats, offering materials for research, recreation, and personal enrichment.

Public workstations throughout the library provide access to a variety of web-based tools, including essential online journals and databases.

The library promotes information literacy, helping students learn to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively and ethically. Research Services staff offer one-on-one assistance in person, by appointment, or remotely via virtual chat and email. Instructional Services staff deliver subject-specific and assignment-based instruction, support First Year Seminar students, and offer building tours.

Two courses are available to strengthen information skills:

  • LSIM 101: Introduction to Library Research

  • LSIM 201: Living in an Information Society

Through Request & Delivery Services, the library provides access to materials not held on-site by participating in state and national resource-sharing networks, including electronic delivery of some items.

The Regional Campus Library Services office supports faculty and students at MSU's regional campuses and in distance learning programs with research help, document delivery, and instructional services.

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) houses multimedia materials such as software, videos, DVDs, audio cassettes, CDs, kits, teaching aids, children’s literature, and a P-12 textbook and curriculum guide collection.

The Learning Technology Lab offers workstations equipped with tools for creating graphics, websites, and presentations. Available equipment includes color scanners, digital cameras, video editing tools, color printers, and a variety of software. Staff are available to assist with technology needs.

The library features a 30-seat computer lab that supports both individual and group work. This lab provides high-speed internet access, a full suite of software programs, and printing services, making it a valuable resource for research, coursework, and digital projects.

The Makerspace within the library offers students hands-on access to creative tools and emerging technologies. Equipment includes 3D printers, vinyl cutters, sewing machines, and crafting tools.

The space encourages innovation and collaboration, with staff available to assist with projects and equipment training.
