Camden-Carroll Library

Camden-Carroll Library is the primary information, research, and collaborative learning center of Morehead State University. The library advances student success, teaching, and faculty scholarship by providing access to extensive information resources, expert research assistance, and innovative learning environments that support critical thinking, digital scholarship, and lifelong learning.

The library’s collections include books, journals, newspapers, government documents, and digital resources that support academic study, scholarly research, and personal enrichment.

Library and Instruction Services
Camden-Carroll Library promotes information literacy and research skills essential for academic and professional success. Library Services staff provide individualized research and scholarly support in person, by appointment, and remotely through chat and email. Instructional Services staff collaborate with faculty to deliver course-integrated library instruction, subject-specific sessions, support for First Year Seminar courses, and library tours.

Students may further develop research and information skills through the following courses:

Resource Sharing and Regional Services
Through Request & Delivery Services, the library participates in regional and national resource-sharing networks to provide access to materials not held locally, including electronic document delivery when available.

Regional Campus Library Services extends library support to faculty and students at MSU’s regional campuses and in distance learning programs by providing research assistance, document delivery, and instructional services.

Learning Resources and Technology
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) houses multimedia and instructional materials, including software, videos, DVDs, audio recordings, teaching kits, children’s literature, and a P–12 textbook and curriculum guide collection that supports teacher education and instructional development.

The library also features a 30-seat computer lab equipped with high-speed internet, specialized software, and printing services to support research, coursework, and digital projects.

Makerspace
The Makerspace provides hands-on access to creative tools and emerging technologies, including 3D printers, vinyl cutters, sewing machines, and crafting equipment. The space supports creativity, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration, with staff available to assist users with equipment training and project development.

Special Collections and Archives
Special Collections and Archives preserves and provides access to unique materials documenting the history of Morehead State University, the surrounding region, and Appalachian culture. Collections include rare books, manuscripts, university records, photographs, and other historical materials that support teaching, research, and community engagement.

Camden-Carroll Library is open seven days a week during the academic term.
