NURB 261 Clinical Judgment

(3-0-3) Restriction: Admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN Pre-licensure). This course is designed to equip first year nursing students with the tools needed to be successful within the BSN program and ultimately as they transition into nursing practice. This course outlines how to use the clinical judgment model when encountering client scenarios, prioritizing client needs, and making safe, evidence-based decisions that lead to quality client outcomes. This course will focus on dosage calculation, planning client care, concept mapping, and effective communication, with an emphasis on basic principles of quality and safety. This course will address areas of time management and test taking strategies with an emphasis on effective studying techniques.
