MATH 125 Introduction to Biostatistics

(3-0-3) An introduction to biostatistics to help students become more statistically literate. This course focuses on the foundational aspects of scientific analysis of health care data to answer health and wellness questions and solve problems. Students who master these concepts will be in a better position to read and understand research in order to make more informed decisions about health and wellness issues for self and others. The statistical concepts are presented within the context of the applications and calculations are performed by the instructor only to the extent needed in order to facilitate student understanding of how to use technology to obtain the needed analysis to answer questions. This course satisfies the Level 2 Knowledge NSC requirement for general education.
