ASTR 303 Solar System Astrophysics

(3-0-3) This is a calculus-based introduction to the astrophysics of the Solar System. This course utilizes concepts of classical and modern physics to understand the structure and evolution of the Sun and other solar system objects. Topics include: historical overview of solar system dynamics, structure of the solar system, the Sun as a star, the Sun-Earth-Moon connections, planetary atmospheres, exo-planetary systems.
