Imaging Sciences Programs
The baccalaureate degree imaging sciences program is a four-year program of study with tracks in Computed Tomography/Magnetic Resonance (CTMR), Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS), and Leadership in Medical Imaging (LMI). The programs have selective admissions policies, which are separate and in addition to the University's admission procedure. The number of available clinical positions limits enrollment in the CTMR and DMS program. Candidates for the programs will be ranked according to GPA in the general education courses, support courses, and radiography courses.
Students must apply for admission to the CTMR or DMS programs by the first Monday in April. Students are officially admitted into the programs in the following Summer II term. The CTMR Program requires 11 months for completion and the DMS Program requires 13 months for completion. Applications to the LMI program are accepted for fall or spring semesters. The LMI Program is totally online and self-paced.
Upon completion of the CTMR Program and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) clinical requirements, the graduate may be eligible to sit for the ARRT National Certification Examination in Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance. Upon completion of the DMS Program, the graduate may be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) National Certification Examinations in Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI), Abdomen (AB) and Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN).
